We love families and love watching you enjoy time together here at Beaver Meadow Family Campground. It feels great to hear the laughing and teasing that takes place over the course of your stay. We provide a lot of activities for you to enjoy and we’ve found some fun things you might like to do on your own.
Some take us down memory lane and are games we played as kids. Do you remember Freeze Tag? You had to freeze when you were tagged and had to stay that way until someone came along and Unfroze you. It’s an easy one to set up because all you need is a bunch of kids, a quick explanation of the rules and you’re off to an afternoon of fun.
There’s Hula Hooping and that old time favorite, Croquet. You may still have some of these tucked away in storage. If so, bring them along on your camping trip and teach the next generation how it’s done.
Lately, we have been seeing fun things that can be created with pool noodles. We found lots of stuff like noodle ring toss and a noodle ring target station that would be easy to make here:
This outdoor obstacle course is a breeze to make with only pool noodles and tent stakes.
How about a set of extra-large pick up sticks. The whole family will love the challenge of picking them up without moving anything. They look to be about three feet long and made of wooden dowels with colorful tape wrapped on each end. Not too hard to make and hours of fun. You can see them and get the instructions at the link below. Check it out and you’ll find plenty of ideas for adding to the fun of being outdoors with your family.
Let us know if you have any of your own family camping game traditions and we’ll share with others here on the blog.
