One thing is universal when it comes to camping, whether you are camping in a tent, RV, or cabin, you share a small space and cooking can be bumpy. Fortunately, there are several small appliances you can bring along to make things go much smoother. They’ll save you time and clean up which are two things we’re sure you won’t mind having more of.
Crockpot – We’ve been using them at home for years but they are just as useful at the campsite. It’s refreshing to be able to cut, chop, mix, and drop everything into one container. You then turn on the heat and can go play for awhile. Dinner will be ready when you are. They come in a variety of sizes from 2 to 6 quarts. Most have clear lids so you can see how things are cooking without opening the lid to check. Some have a locking strap over the top to prevent spills if the crockpot gets tipped over, and most have a removable crock for easy cleaning. You can find them with timers and mini crockpots that come with them for gravies and sauces. So, how about 40 Easy Slow Cooker Recipes for Busy Nights to get you started?

It’s amazing just how fast you can cook food in a pressure cooker. What used to take hours might now take only twenty minutes. You’ll barely have time to set the table and round up the kids before your meal is ready and waiting for you. There are some studies to support that food cooked in a pressure cooker retains more nutrients due to the much shorter cooking time required. We think it’s very useful for campers since many of these will let you braise, steam, roast, and warm in the same unit.
